I saw the light*

* like Jake Blues in The Blues brothers maybe I saw the light: finally, the next Monday will be possible to run. But I still have the plantar fasciitis, however, I will go out to run. I do not run from 129 days, on Monday they will be 132 sad days without running. 129 are the days that separate me from the last run (small test run of 5 km) in reality my penultimate run was the 24th November (after that race I decided to rest my aching foot),158 long days have passed since then. So next Monday I will run. I don't know if my foot will be still aching, but I want to run and I will do. My sporting team is organizing some virtual races that will replace some social trophy race. The first one is long 5 km and I want to participate. All of us will record our races (each will run on their own) on Garmin or Strava and then we will make the order of arrival. If the restrictions will continue we will have to organize other races. Next Monday, after running, I will know if my plantar fasci

It is the title of a really fun video . Of course, I did need to use Google translator because to understand well. But it's a lot of fun even if I didn't understand the lyrics well. Without Grammarly and Google translator I am unable to write these simple lines. It is better to write "really fun video" or "the video is a lot of fun"? However, I always think (I need to hope) that the coronavirus pandemic will be the Trump's Vietnam. This virus will leave deep scars in American society and these scars will not disappear by telling lies. To date, the victims' number is almost 50,000, in few days this number will exceed that of the soldier who died in Vietnam . In Lombardy, the number of victims of covid-19 has exceeded that of the civil victims in the second world war! And possibly this number is underestimated by 30-40%. Of course, I hope the pandemic will stop now, but even if it stopped today the number would still be too high. Trump i

why write such banality?

This answer could be the first question if anyone read this blog. I had a blog for 10-12 years, I closed it because I had nothing more to say. if I have nothing to say... I can shut up! Therefore I write banalities in English at least I learn something. Now I have a doubt: is it better to use banality or platitude ? Maybe I should find myself a virtual girlfriend in an English-speaking country, oh yes, I know, it may be enough to find a simple friend, to my age I don't need to expand my vocabulary in the sectors of the courtship and amorous skirmishes. In the last days, I watched a series tv Tales from the loop , as usual, I watched the show in English with Italian subtitles... but it is the series tv almost speechless of all time. The characters spoke very little, with long silences. Very long silences, so I  learned too little, but I liked much it, above all the landscapes inspired by the Swedish artist Simon Stålenhag . Before this series TV, I watched Unorthodox but i

My English at the coronavirus time

There are many things to talk about the coronavirus, but they are too much and I don't want to increase the entropy of the universe. At this moment I have installed Grammarly on Firefox for it could to helps me to write better in English. I write so badly in English that anything could help me to write better. To be honest I write these few sentences also using another window of Mozilla with Google translator (from Italian to English). An old friend of mine said that whoever writes badly think badly, so I know very well I write and think badly in English (but also in Italian). However, I have fun to use Grammar and Google translator together, also to say just nonsense. I write in English, Grammarly immediately suggests the corrections and I check with Google translator if the result is satisfactory (and also when I need to find the word that I don't know in English). This way of writing is a better teacher than to write in Italian in the Google translator window a
