The Sign of Four

 

A few days ago I read the simplified version of The sign of four by Arthur Conan Doyle. 

This version was been adapted for pre-intermediate English students, so it was easy for me.

It is hard for me to use the correct time verb, I do a lot of confusion between the past simple and past perfect.

Of course, there are a lot more things that I do not know about English than I know.

I do a lot of confusion also the position of adverbs, about conjunctions... and when I listen to the English phrases, I need to listen to them many times.

I become crazy to listen to the impossible pronunciation of native English speakers on Memrise.

These people are not professional speakers, they are common people and they often have pronounced dialectal inflections.

These inflections are definitely instructive but I need to listen to these phrases many, many times before I understand the words.

It is very different to listen to the speaker of The Sign of Four with his perfect English pronunciation.


In italiano avrei scritto una cosa del genere:

Qualche giorno fa ho letto la versione semplificata de Il segno dei quattro di Arthur Conan Doyle.

Questa versione è stata adattata per studenti di inglese pre-intermediate, quindi è stato facile per me.

È difficile per me usare il corretto tempo verbale, faccio molta confusione tra past simple e past perfect.

Naturalmente, ci sono molte più cose che io non so sull'inglese di quante ne sappia.

Faccio molta confusione anche sulla posizione degli avverbi, sulle congiunzioni... e quando ascolto le frasi in inglese, ho bisogno di ascoltarle molte volte.

Divento pazzo ad ascoltare la pronuncia impossibile dei madrelingua inglesi su Memrise.

Queste persone non sono professionisti, sono persone comuni e spesso hanno pronunciate inflessioni dialettali.

Queste inflessioni sono decisamente istruttive ma ho bisogno di ascoltare queste frasi molte, molte volte prima di capire le parole.

È molto diverso ascoltare l'oratore di The Sign of Four con la sua una perfetta pronuncia inglese.

I have a controversial relationship with the detractors of the State of Israel. I read a lot of criticisms of so-called anti-Zionists. I agree with almost every criticism of the Israeli government, but I can not stand it when this alleged anti-Zionism simply becomes anti-Semitism. I can not stand the anti-Semitism of the Arabs, but also of the Palestinians. what the numbers suggest

I saw in the promotional spot of a Tv show that the population of the USA is 5% of the world population, but the prison population of the USA is 25% of the world prison population! Of course, it is not important the source because here is important how I write what I write. I do not care to have comments on the topics or my ideas, I would care to have suggestions on my English syntax, I would like help with using one verb instead of another or on avoiding a certain word. My simple text is the mirror of my simple thoughts and they are not really important: I spend much time reading newspapers online, post on social networks and I have the opportunity to improve my reasoning my approach to the world, but I write here because I hope to find a little help to improve how I write in English. However, the situation of the prison world and the justice of the USA seems frightening to me. what do the numbers suggest?
