A bit of if and buts

 

I've been following basketball since my daughter played, let's say 1990. The colors of her team were red and black, so when we start watching the NBA championship it was natural for us to cheer dor the team that used the same colors: the Chicago Bulls.

We watched two matches a week. It was the years of the first ring for Michael Jordan's Chicago Bulls. Oh sure, also of Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson. Our daughter was little and we sent her to bed early, but we went to sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. The alarm rand at 2 or 4 am (depending on whether the game was played east or west) and we watched the game. Two hours later went to sleep in the bed and at 7 I would get up to go to work.

In this way, we watched the Chicago Bulls won the first 3 championships. Then we watched the Chicago Bulls won another 3 championships.

Then, after Michael Jordan's retire and the subsequent dismemberment of the team, we didn't watch basketball, also because they broadcast it on paytv.

A few years later we subscribed to paytv and started to follow NBA basketball again. Immediately we loved the Derrick Rose's way of play and we hoped that he bringed the Chicago Bulls to the championship.

Then, after Michael Jordan's retire and the subsequent dismemberment of the team, we didn't watch basketball, also because they broadcast it on paytv.

A few years later we subscribed to paytv and started to follow NBA basketball again. Immediately we loved the Derrick Rose's way of play and we hoped that he bringed the Chicago Bulls to the title.

Unfortunately his injuries have compromised his career and subsequent championships of the Chicago Bulls.

In the following years I was able to appreciate a young player chosen on the thirtieth pick: Jimmy Butler.

Certainly he isn't the player with most talent in the NBA but for sure he is a player with a gigantic determination and an equally great desire to work hard.The shortened NBA championship allowed LeBron James and the Lakers to make it to the playoffs in excellent condition, but maybe with an 82-game regular season the Lakers didn't arrive in the first position, the young Miami Heat players would mature again and who knows how the final would have gone?

Seguo il basket da quando mia figlia giocava, diciamo dal 1990. I colori della sua squadra erano rosso e nero, quindi quando abbiamo iniziato a guardare il basket NBA è stato naturale per noi tifare per la squadra che usava gli stessi colori: i Chicago Bulls.

Dopo il ritiro di Michael Jordan e il conseguente smembramento della squadra, non abbiamo più guardato il basket, anche perché lo trasmettevano su paytv. 

Qualche anno dopo ci siamo abbonati alla paytv e abbiamo ricominciato a seguire il basket NBA. Abbiamo subito amato il modo di giocare di Derrick Rose e speravamo che portasse i Chicago Bulls al titolo. 

Purtroppo i suoi infortuni hanno compromesso la sua carriera e i successivi campionati dei Chicago Bulls. 

Negli anni successivi ho potuto apprezzare un giovane giocatore preso alla trentesima scelta: Jimmy Butler. 

Certamente non è il giocatore con più talento nella NBA ma di sicuro è un giocatore con una determinazione gigantesca e con un'altrettanto grande voglia di lavorare sodo. 

Il campionato NBA accorciato ha permesso a LeBron James e ai Lakers di arrivare ai playoff in ottime condizioni, ma forse con una regular season di 82 partite i Lakers non sarbebro arrivati ​​in prima posizione, i giovani giocatori dei Miami Heat sarebbero maturati ancora e chissà come sarebbe andata la finale?
