The finger and the moon

 


Today I want to speak about the finger, I do not care about the moon.

I am not going to tell you about the Ukrainian occupation, invasion of a country is always a wrong thing so I will not occupy this. I want to hear nothing about the reasons for the Russian occupation (this aspect is the moon).

I am going to ask myself some questions (these concern the finger pointing to the moon):

- why Italian people have supported the armed struggle everywhere in the world (South and Central America, Africa, Asia), and today they want the Ukrainians to surrender
- they have mythologized the Italian armed resistance against the Nazi fascists (the resistance was made also with the American weapons), and today they want the Ukrainians to surrender
- they asked me for years to support the boycott of South Africa even if the resistance was certainly not peaceful, and today they want the Ukrainians to surrender...

They perfectly remember the Cuban Missile Crisis but they do not remember the occupation of Hungary or Czechoslovakia or Afghanistan or Chechnya.

They do not remember the gulag system, they remember that Assange risks 175 years in prison when he will be tried in the USA  but they forget the murders of journalists and opponents in Russia, the arrests of peaceful protesters...

So I do not understand yet I protested with them against Chile golpe and on thousands of other occasions.


In Italian I would have written something like this:

Oggi voglio parlare del dito, non mi interessa la luna. 

Non vi parlerò dell'occupazione ucraina, l'invasione di un paese è sempre una cosa sbagliata, quindi non mi occuperò di questo. Non voglio sapere nulla delle ragioni dell'occupazione russa (questo aspetto è la luna). 

Mi pongo alcune domande (riguardano il dito che indica la luna): 

- perché gli italiani hanno sostenuto la lotta armata ovunque nel mondo (America del Sud e Centro America, Africa, Asia), e oggi vogliono che gli ucraini si arrendano
- hanno mitizzato la resistenza armata italiana contro i nazifascisti (la resistenza è stata fatta anche con le armi americane), e oggi vogliono che gli ucraini si arrendano
- mi hanno chiesto per anni di sostenere il boicottaggio del Sud Africa anche se la resistenza non è stata certo pacifica, e oggi vogliono che gli ucraini si arrendano...

Ricordano perfettamente la crisi dei missili cubani ma non ricordano l'occupazione dell'Ungheria o della Cecoslovacchia o dell'Afghanistan o della Cecenia. 

Non ricordano il sistema dei gulag, ricordano che Assange rischia 175 anni di carcere quando sarà processato negli USA ma dimenticano gli omicidi di giornalisti e oppositori in Russia, gli arresti di manifestanti pacifici... 

Quindi non capisco ancora ho protestato con loro contro il Cile golpe e in migliaia di altre occasioni.

Shit afternoon

We got up and it was raining outside, not really, but enough not to make us want to go out for a run. We lazed a little (but I would have had the opportunity to work), then we went out to see the fair: there was the usual merchandise and we only bought a printed scarf with a painting by Van Gogh and another with a print of Picasso's painting. I, me & my Garmin

Paraphrasing the title of the film by Jim Carrey I could also have articulated this short text “I, me and Amazon” or “I, me and Black Friday”. But let's go in order. A few months ago, my Garmin 310XT started to show signs of insanity: it did not record some races, or it canceled data instead of downloading them. It had become really slow to connect to satellites and, it must be said, it is really boring to wait (under the sun or cold) that the GPS is operational.
